Celebrities Who Publically Suck On E-Cigs

Undoubtedly concerned with their health, numerous celebrities are reported to have made the change from analogues to e-cigs. Electronic cigarettes are even making their way into the movies. Remember all of the old movies and TV shows of yesterday? The star always seemed to be puffing on a cigarette. Humphrey Bogart smoked in movies from African Queen to Casablanca. Dean Martin always had a cigarette between his fingers. Even such all American icons such Andy Griffith and Johnny Carson were caught on camera from time to time smoking.
The trend is starting again, but instead of tobacco cigarettes, the star is vaping on an electronic cigarette. In, “The Tourist,” Johnny Depp can be seen vaping away on an electronic cigarette. Katherine Heigl has vaped on the David Letterman show and even Letterman was seen trying out an electronic cigarette. Vaping has even caught on among the radio crowd, when Rush Limbaugh recently endorsed the benefits of electronic cigarettes over the old tobacco cigarettes. Many other celebrities have been seen vaping in public.
While vaping is better than smoking, there is still the problem of younger people picking up the habit after seeing their favorite actor doing the same in the movies, on TV or in public. Even with vaping, a nicotine addition can develop and no matter how much safer electronic cigarettes are than analogues, the user is still inhaling a foreign substance into the lungs. With no long-term studies concerning the ultimate safety of vaping, caution should be used.
It is always good to see anyone attempting to improve their health and stop nasty habits such as smoking. At the same time, it is always bad to do anything to encourage the young to try new things which can damage their health. Best wishes to those celebrities who wish to improve their health by switching to electronic cigarettes, but they should also remember that they do have a responsibility to not encourage such behavior in the younger and more impressionable of their fans.
