Why is French singer Manu Chao virtually unheard of in the United States? He is probably one of the most famous rock stars in the world but yet his music barely makes the radio stations in the US. Why is that? Is it because Americans would not get his eccentric style? David T apparently only limits himself to one language. Well here is a small joke....what do you call someone who speaks three languages? Trilingual. What do you call someone who speaks two languages? Bi-lingual. What do you call someone who speaks one language? An American. Namely David T. Go back and listen to your Slipknot or Country music, David.
Marie Laforêt - Contact info for this French singer? -Marie Laforet? I have a painting of a girl who who looks to be about 12 years old. The painting was purchased in France sometime in the late 1950s. I recently discovered that the painting may be of the French singer & actress Marie Laforêt, made just before, or maybe around the time she became famous. It was painted by Jean-Pierre Capron, a moderately famous painter who supposedly at least met Laforêt at some point. Since I've never lived in France I really don't know anything about Marie Laforêt, but I'd love to find some contact info for her so that I could send her a picture of the painting (either by email or by regular mail) to confirm that it really is of her. The only thing I know is that she now supposedly lives in Switzerland. Any ideas on how I could track down this contract info? Thanks!
