my dream in life is to become a music producer/recording artist you, know like in a studio... i need advice? Like i said, my dream/goal in life is to become a music producer/recording artist like in a studio. I love music and this is no doubt what i want to be... but im not sure if i have to go to a certain type of school for that and if so, what is a school that offers in that kind of feild? any other info about how to start in that career would be nice too. thanks

How do I become an A&R rep./talent scout or work in the artist development dept. for a record label company? I want to eventually be in the music business. My dream job would be to become an A&R representative for a record label company, maybe even a president of one someday. Other possibilities would be tour manager, band manager, an advertising or marketing position within a record label company/music magazine company/music television company/etc.. I've also heard of a position in an area known as the artist development department in which you help market new artists/bands. Are there any specific schools out there somewhere which are well known for their music business programs? One record label company which I could really see myself working for would be Solid State Records. HM magazine would also be sweet to work for. I know that some schools specifically have "music business" programs/majors. To me this would seem like the best way to go. I just need to know if anyone knows which schools would provide me with the best results in education, environment, and then job placement.

Can anyone help me remember the name of this music video, or the artist, SOMETHING!!? I liked this music video that I saw, maybe around 2003? She was working a waitressing job at a burger joint (in the movie) and this guy she likes comes in, and then these mean girls come in, and she drops their burger, but still gives it to them as payback. What is your opinion on majoring in music for collage? I am only in 8th grade so i have plenty of time to think this through but for about my entire life i have loved playing the piano, and i am quite good. It would be a dream job for me to do something involving the piano, and i am not talking about becoming a famous artist or anything, i am talking about a minor job, but my parents dissagree. Why do local music artists think fame comes without working or not putting money into the projects.? I have managed two different groups here in Dallas, Texas. They all say their ready and hungry for the work to come. But when i start connecting them to different contacts and funding their projects they all seem to start backing down saying it takes too long to get on the radio. I especially hate it when when get ready for the studio they go in and change everything up even after we rehearsed all the songs many times. They all seem to think that fame comes with no pratice, little work and no money. Im tired of trying to get the people here to understand that fame comes with many headaches and often time disappointment but that you can never give up you must go through things in order obtain your dream and goals. Im successful in what i do because hey i know what i can do and i believe in all my abilities to do the job of managing. Many of them believe in me as well they are just into the girls and guys and materialistic things to focus totally on their projects. What do yall think?
