- First of all, I'm glad that you want to get out there and spread God's Word- but try taking one step at a time. I personally don't believe that one needs to be college educated in order to make God's Word known. Jesus's disciples weren't college educated; however, they received some sort of "training"-so to speak. Your home church should be your first source in helping you get started with all your goals. Do you sing in the choir? Maybe your church's minister of music knows someone who knows someone that could get you connected in the gospel music network. Find out who Ty Trivett's (spelling) or Yolanda Adam's record company's are and send them your demo tape. Also, preachers, reverends, and ministers are all called by GOD. If He is calling you to become an ordained reverend or minister, then HE will provide a way for you to do this. Pray on it. As far as spreading God's Word- as Christians, we're called to do that anyway; we dont have to have satellites, websites and all that business. Did Jesus use AOL? We can start with our neighbors, family members, friends, local communities-or by being a witness for Christ by the way we live our lives. I wish I had names, numbers and connections to give you-but the best way to go about what you're trying to do is to let God lead you. Everything will work out :)
- First of all......allow me to say that I admire all that you are trying to accomplish for the LORD and His Gospel!! Amen to that. I thought it important to note a few things that you may or may not have already thought about. One; I think that you ought to choose where you feel a stronger calling ( or where you feel "most" led to go). I should know off the top of my head the scriptures to give you- but I do not right now. I know you will know what Im talking about since "governing the flock" is what you feel you want to do. The decision to become a minister/pastor is NOT a thing to be taken lightly. The LORD holds pastors to such a higher RESPONSIBILITY because it is in the power of a pastors' will that a congregation can go terribly wrong and left field-----OR------where one pastor could do alot of good in the way he/she leads and instructs the congregation in the ways of the LORD, according to HIS Word (the BIBLE). With that said, I will move on to the issue of breaking into the music industry....getting your music heard, and how difficult it is. Be it contemporary, gospel, secular or urban...etc, etc....It is so very difficult to be discovered. I think that this question is for you alone: Do you want to pastor and make make music at the same time? Which calling pulls hardest at your interests? Do you understand according to the WORD how very HEAVY the strain and workload is UPON a PASTOR? Can you juggle both? If these weigh that heavily upon your heart, then I think you can only bring it to HIM, and thru prayer and fasting.....you can come to a decision as to what HIS WILL is....and not yours. I know its frustrating: the WAITING...but its well worth it when you weigh this route compared to not doing His will. I hope this helped atleast a little bit? Merry, merry C H R I S T m a s!~ <><><><><><><
