how is pop music better than rock music..............?

my friend likes rock music & i like pop music. we keep arguing over which is better. he is forever giving me statistics & examples to prove his point. i never have any, so supposedly i lose !!!! can u give me a few points to support my point................that is, how is pop music better than rock music ????? thanks :)
