can an Indian girl become an American pop star?

my friend is so into western music & shes good in singin 2. but her parents r vry strict.they don let her wear any dress of her choice, don let her go out,etc. they keep her inside the house all the time except school.shes in her 11th grade. she aint havin enough money & info. shes from India & doesnt know how she can come 2 usa.even if she manages 2 b a star, will americans accept her?

1. Yeah, I think it could be. Honestly, I think it really depends whether or not she's pretty. That's what pop culture is really based on. I think anyone from another race would be accepted into our culture as long as he or she looked nice. It's just like anyone else that lives in the U.S. It doesn't really matter all that much if they can sing; in order to make it, they have to look nice too. And let me tell you, if she's that sheltered that she can't wear what she wants or ever go out of the house, she won't fit into pop culture, either. That's just how it is. Unless she lives here for a while first, and then tries to make it in the music industry.
2. I would say it is possible, but very unlikely. Especially if she is not in the US. There are only a handful of Asian Indians who are even known in the US in the entertainment industry and probably none in the music industry (for Western music - Eastern music is a different matter). My guess is she would have to be the biggest star in India, doing mainstream Western Popular music, before she could break into the US market. In other words, she would have to be like Brittany reincarnated.
3. If its only about pop singing its very much possible,but not sure her parents will compromise on showing on her body,cause indians are quite conservative.Yes Americans will accept her if she is really a good singer.
