would this sentence make sense? "the upbeat pop music is used to juxtapose the brutal murder"?

Am i using Juxtapose in the correct way or should i say "the happy pop music is used to highlight the juxtaposition with the brutal murder" thanks in advance

  1. It's clunky, but it kinda works. You have the proper idea, but juxtapose means placing things next to each other for contrast OR comparison. It may be better to just use something like "the happy pop music is a morbid contrast to the brutal murder" Or thesaurus the word contrast and pick something more clever.
  2. I think you should use "...to highlight the juxaposition with the brutal murder." I think that makes more sense. i hoped i helped :)
