Is it gay to listen to pop music if you are a guy?

I am a straight teenage guy and I listen to Katy Perry, Avril Lavigne, Colbie Caillat, Taylor Swift, Hilary Duff, and Miley Cyrus/Hannah Montana. Those are the only pop artists I listen to. The other music I listen to is rock (like Coldplay or The Fray) and punk (like Blink-182 or Green Day). I listen to a lot more rock bands and stuff but does the pop music make me gay?

  15. As with rock itself, "pop" is a gigantic category that includes everything from the Beatles and Michael Jackson to Hannah Montana and the Jonas Brothers. There's nothing wrong with pop music (a lot of it is AWESOME), and no music tastes of any kind make you "gay". However, if you don't want to provoke laughs, I would suggest you keep your burning passion for Hannah Montana and Hilary Duff music your little secret. Again, nothing inherently wrong with it, but understand that it will be viewed as weird for someone of your age-gender demographic. *** P.S. For the record -- as some others said, Coldplay and the Fray are not rock (they're both pop), and although that's where they started out, I think calling present-day Green day "punk" is pretty dubious. Punk-pop? Maybe. Face it man, you're an inveterate pop fan. Accept it and rejoice, LOL.

  17. ok if you listen to that music to get closer to girls and stuff like that then i say thats a pretty good sacrifice but if you don't then well....ehh look at a chick then at a guy and see which one you like more...you'll know the answer. as for coldplay and the fray...that isn't rock and blink 182 and green day aren't punk, they're alternative and green day is a very disappointing band, very.

  21. Your not gay. I listen all of the same artists. (except Taylor Swift) Plus, girls like guys that like the same stuff as them, especially music and tv. Any way who cares if you like that stuff they will never make you stop liking it, just because everyone thinks guys are suppose to like rap and heavy metal dose NOT mean we do , i think alot of guys like that stuff.

That's the same with me and my guilty pleasure for miranda cosgrove's music Edit: Re Metalhead: I think you'll find that both Coldplay and The Fray class as piano rock, so Coldplay are rock.

But just don't go around saying that (Which I know-- STINKS), but hey you'll be ok. Hilary Duff is so beautiful, soon she will be a legend :D
